Andrew Chan

Andrew began learning the cello at the age of 12 under the guidance of Mr. Poh Yee Luh. He later continued his studies with renowned cello educator Mrs. H. Ilano, earning a Diploma in Cello Performance (ATCL).

Over the years, Andrew has performed with various Chinese and Western ensembles. Most notably, he served as the principal cellist of the NUS Symphony Orchestra during his undergraduate years. He has also performed with esteemed Western ensembles such as the Orchestra of the Music Makers (OMM), re:mix, and the Singapore Lyric Opera Orchestra.

His immersion in Chinese music led him to perform as a cellist with Ding Yi Music Company, where he participated in various overseas performances. His extensive experience across different ensembles underscores his versatility in both Western and Chinese musical traditions.
